Service Dates: 1944 – 1948 . Bill’s military career begin when he entered the United States Army Air Corps on March 9, 1944, and served with distinction during World War 11. He enlisted in the Missouri National Guard on July 12, 1948, progressing through key positions in Headquarters Detachment, Battalion, Emergency Operations Headquarters and State Headquarters level, with Promotion to Colonel as Task Force Commander, 35th Support Center, on July 1, 1971.
During his illustrious career, Colonel Hasler was honored with a number of awards to include; Army Meritorious Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. World War 11 Victory Medal, Armed Forces Reserve (30years) Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal Missouri Meritorious Service Medal State Emergency Duty (4 Bronze Stars) and a 30 year Missouri Long Service Medal.
He entered the Technician Program in July 1948 as a Supply Clerk in the office of the United STATES Property and Disbursing Officer, Fort Leonard Wooed, Mo. and served as Supervisory Storekeeper, Signal Maintenance Supervisor, Concentration Site Supervisor, Staff Assistant TRAINING Staff Assistant. (Administration)as well as Logistics Officer. Colonel Hasler served as the United States Property and Fiscal Officer for Missouri from April 16, 1976, until his retirement on July 13, 1982. On July 14, 1982 he was promoted to the grade of Brigadier General Missouri National Guard Retired.
